Monday March Madness! Just what is this? Well, it's a Monday and it's March, but it's more than that. Every Monday should be a holiday, but especially this one, as it's right before sxsw in Austin, meaning, super touring bands passing through, joined up with excellent locals!
Foster Body: From Salt Lake City, Utah.
Neighbors: From Seattle.
The Regrettes: From LA. At just 15 years old, singer/songwriter/musicain Lydia Night is already considered a seasoned music veteran. She began playing guitar and writing songs at 6, formed her first band at 7, and soon after became a member of Ryan Gosling & Zach Shields' Dead Man's Bones. At 11, she formed her second band with drummer Marlhy Murphy, Pretty Little Demons. In addition to doing a US tour of Girls Rock Camps, they were the youngest band ever invited to SXSW, all while playing all the instruments on their records and getting their homework done.
The Regrettes are Lydia's latest project with friends Genessa Gariano (guitar, vocals), Sage Nicole (bass, vocals), and drummer Maxx Morando. They've been tearing up the LA club scene playing with Peaches, Bleached, La Luz, Kim & the Created, and Summer Twins, leaving LA's jaded rock critics to write such things as, "Everybody was floored by Regrettes—the new poster children for local teen garage rock." And, "Regrettes rocked with a ferocity and penchant for hooks that schools most indie rockers twice their age. They will surely run an empire in ten years tops." Their upcoming debut record was produced by Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Regina Spector, Tegan & Sara).
And don't forget the locals!...
