Advance Base / Lesionread / Electrisad / The Blank Waves

Advance Base: A new solo project by Owen Ashworth, formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. Walking the line between electronic pop and more traditional singer/songwriter forms, Owen Ashworth builds minimalist, heavy-hearted, and nostalgia-obsessed tunes around his conversational, baritone vocals, using electric pianos, Omnichords, orchestral samples, and antique drum machines. The sound of Advance Base has been described as "depressed," "lo-fi," and "pop." The second Advance Base album, Nephew in the Wild, will be released August 21, 2015 on Orindal Records (US/AQ) and Tomlab Records (EU/UK).

Advance Base is named after the Antarctic meteorological station and psychedelic death trap that nearly killed Admiral Richard E. Byrd during the winter of 1934.

Lesionread: From Buffalo. A vibrant blend of electronica-lilted dotted lines and groovy soul experimentalism. Known for their punk devil-may-care approach toward an increasingly hectic and theatrical style and sharing the stage with international acts like Mac Demarco, Melt Banana, Michael Parallax, and Wild Nothing, Lesionread has quickly garnered the attention of many as well as attained fantastic reviews via Wondering Sound, Impose, and more. Consistently contributing a series of singles, cassettes, music videos, as well as extravagant and weird merchandise.
